Conforama chooses telescopic belt conveyor for efficient furniture unloading
At Conforama's logistics distribution centre, south of Lyon (FR), a telescopic belt conveyor was commissioned last week in cooperation with UVO Technologies, which represents FMH Conveyors in France
From this distribution centre, Conforama's 200-plus stores across France are restocked. A significant portion of the products handled are large, heavy boxes, mostly furniture, arriving in fully packed containers that need to be unloaded. Boxes weighing over 70 kg and measuring 1500 mm² or 2200 mm in length by 700 mm in width are not uncommon.
To make this process faster and more ergonomic for the operators, Conforama chose the BestReach telescopic conveyor, equipped with a hydraulic lift system and operator platform, as well as an articulated conveyor at the rear for more efficient palletising. As shown in the images, warehouse workers can easily stack large, heavy boxes onto pallets, improving both ergonomics and productivity.
